Ghost Jobs: The Hidden Trap for Job Seekers
Every day, millions of professionals apply for roles that simply don’t exist. These ghost jobs — postings created with no intent to hire — remain one of the industry’s most persistent and damaging practices. For those actively job seeking, 40% of Job Postings Are Fake: The Ghost Job Crisis Exposed (VerityAI) is essential reading. This issue is not new; those of us in the career and recruitment sector have spoken about it for decades. In fact, it was one of the drivers behind my co-founding Six Figures, Australia’s first verified $100K+ job platform — ensuring genuine executive opportunities and real employers. Two decades later, the deception persists, amplified by AI-driven tools that can generate fake listings at scale. The cost to job seekers is significant: Wasted time, Emotional fatigue, False hope and Erosion of confidence If you’re navigating the market, I strongly encourage you to read the article to understand the warning signs and protect your job search strategy.

From the Archives: What’s Changed in Executive Careers Since 2010?
While clearing out my shed recently, I uncovered a collection of ‘Executive Monitor Reports’ we produced annually during my time as CEO of SixFigures.com.au (2008–2012). The nostalgia was strong — and the insights even stronger.
Despite all the technology, AI tools, and new job-search platforms, some fundamentals have barely shifted:
Back then:
• 49% of executives were satisfied or very satisfied with their employer
• 45.4% secured new roles through networking and referrals
Today: Those numbers remain remarkably consistent. It’s a reminder that while channels evolve, relationships, reputation, and meaningful work remain the cornerstone of executive mobility. Plus, in networking you can avoid those, Ghost Jobs! Read the full post via the link.

The Hidden Cost of Leadership: Why So Many Executives Feel Alone at the Top
There’s an irony that hits many leaders as they ascend: you get the title, the office, and the influence — but fewer people who genuinely understand the weight you carry.
Across industries, executives are naming loneliness not as a by-product of the role but as one of its core, often unspoken costs. The expectations — visibility, resilience, clarity, composure — inadvertently create distance.
“RHR International reports that 50% of CEOs feel lonely, and 61% say it negatively impacts their performance.” To learn more read on.
